Meet the Doula- About Me

I have always had a passion for childbirth and all things 'baby'. As young as eight, I remember wanting to be a midwife. I have been a birth doula since 2010, when I took my intital training through the Doula Association of North America (DONA) and began supporting families.

It's important to me to keep current and obtain more training and experience.  Over the years, I've studied, trained and observed in the areas of HypnoBabies, acupressure, rebozo use, Spinning Babies (positioning), massage for labour, essential oils, breastfeeding, and supporting pregnancy and infant loss.  I have been a certified Loss and Bereavement Doula since 2014. In 2017, I added to my certifications and am a Certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator and now offer group and private in home prenatal classes.

I live with my husband and two beautiful children just minutes north of Edmonton in Sturgeon County. I provide support wherever mom is labouring, whether it be home, hospital or birth centre. Supporting women and their families through pregnancy and birth is my passion and my true labour of love.

The word doula comes from the Greek, meaning servant. Birth doulas serve families by providing information and emotional and physical support in pregnancy, throughout

labour and just after the birth of their child.
